Focus: Surviving When Christians Hurt You Day 22 | September 22 Recognizing When A Christian Friendship No Longer Fits
Just as seasons change, so do relationships; sometimes even Christian friendships end up draining rather than blessing you. The Bible shows even Paul and Barnabas, both faithful men of God, parted ways for a time (Acts 15:39). Sometimes, growing into who God made you means realizing a friendship no longer fits. Don’t cling to the past—God has new connections waiting.
Bible Verses:
“There is a time for everything… a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1,5)
“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’” (1 Corinthians 15:33)
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17)
Call to Action:
Reflect: Are you holding on out of habit more than health? Pray for courage to release unhealthy ties and trust God for growth.
3 Things to Remember:
Not all friendships last forever.
Growth sometimes requires release.
God provides new support for each season.
