Focus: Surviving When Christians Hurt You Day 25 | September 25
Facing Betrayal—Learning from David and Ahithophel
David was betrayed by a close advisor, which hurt more than the wounds of an enemy (Psalm 55:12-14). Sometimes Christian friends gossip, betray, or abandon you and the pain cuts deeply. Jesus teaches us to bring that hurt to God—and forgive, not harbor bitterness.
Bible Verses:
“If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it… but it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend.” (Psalm 55:12-14)
“If you forgive others, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” (Matthew 6:14)
“Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him…” (Psalm 62:8)
Call to Action:
Write out your feelings of betrayal; release them to God in prayer and ask for strength to forgive as you move forward.
3 Things to Remember:
Betrayal hurts, but healing is possible.
Forgiveness frees your heart.
God is your safe place.
