Focus: Surviving When Christians Hurt You Day 23 | September 23
The Pain of Growing Apart—Letting Go Doesn’t Mean Failing
Letting go of a treasured friendship can feel like failure, but even Ruth and Naomi embraced new relationships and seasons after loss (Ruth 1:16-17). As in the Psychology Today article, sometimes connections stop fitting as both people grow; it may hurt, but making space for what’s next honors God’s process.
Bible Verses:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” (Isaiah 43:18)
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
“A friend loves at all times…” (Proverbs 17:17)
Call to Action:
Release guilt about outgrown friendships. Pray to bless those you are letting go, trusting God with their future and yours.
3 Things to Remember:
Change can be healthy, not selfish.
Bless what was; welcome what’s next.
God meets you in every transition.
