Focus: Emotional Triage Series Day 4: Processing Pain with God
Pain is an inevitable part of life, but how we process it determines whether we move toward healing or remain stuck in cycles of hurt. Emotional triage calls us to bring our pain to God rather than suppress it or let it fester. When we process pain with God, we invite His comfort, wisdom, and perspective into our darkest moments. He never minimizes our suffering but meets us with compassion and understanding. The Psalms are filled with honest cries of pain, showing us that God welcomes our raw emotions. As we pour out our hearts to Him, He binds up our wounds and gives us the strength to endure. Processing pain with God also helps us avoid unhealthy coping mechanisms that can lead to further harm. Instead, we learn to trust Him with our hurts, believing that He can redeem even the most broken parts of our story. Over time, this practice leads to deeper intimacy with God, greater resilience, and the ability to extend grace to others who are hurting.
Bible Verses:
· “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)
· “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you.” (Psalm 55:22)
· “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
Call to Action:
