Proverbs 23

Bible Verse

“My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways.”
— Proverbs 23:26 (NIV)

Devotional Thought

What does it mean to become whole? For much of my life, I believed that wholeness could be found in people—through my children, my spouse, or relationships. I thought that others could complete me. But over time, I learned that true wholeness cannot come from anyone else. Our children, our families, and our friends are blessings, but they cannot fill the deepest places in our hearts. Only Jesus Christ, our true source, can make us whole.

Life brings trials, crisis, and pain—often orchestrated by the enemy, Satan, who wants to convince us we are broken beyond repair. Abuse, neglect, and rejection can leave us feeling worthless. But these are lies. The truth is that Jesus died for you, and in Him, you can become whole again—stronger and freer than before.

Wholeness is living the life God destined for you, not defined by your wounds or your past, but by the abundant life Jesus offers. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10) The Holy Spirit leads us step by step into a deeper understanding of God’s love, healing, and restoration. No matter what you have endured, God is waiting for your heart—ready to make you whole.

Personalized Connection

I used to think my worth depended on others. But as I grew in Christ, I realized only He could fill the emptiness inside. When I finally surrendered my heart to Him, I discovered a wholeness I never thought possible. My healing didn’t happen overnight, but every day, the Holy Spirit led me closer to the life God intended for me.
