Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ

Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ

Story

The preparation for Earth’s Final Royal Wedding requires us to be dead to sin but alive in Christ Jesus. This transformation begins with accepting Him as our Savior but continues through daily surrender and spiritual growth. The Bible states, “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed” (Romans 6:6). With this truth in mind, we understand that our Re-Born Identity means letting go of our old selves—the carnal mind—and embracing a life led by the Holy Spirit.

This journey isn’t easy. Romans 8:7 reminds us that “the carnal mind is enmity against God.” Yet through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, we are freed from sin and empowered to live righteously. As Paul writes in Romans 6:11, “Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Memory Verse

“For he that is dead is freed from sin.” - Romans 6:7

Reflection

Being dead to sin doesn’t mean we are perfect or immune to temptation—it means we are no longer enslaved by it. Through Christ’s resurrection power, we are given new life and strength to overcome the battles of the flesh day by day.

Relevant Today

In today’s culture, where self-indulgence often takes precedence over self-sacrifice, living as though we are “dead to sin” can seem countercultural. Yet it is precisely this lifestyle that sets us apart as followers of Christ and prepares us for eternity.

Call to Action

Take time today to reflect on areas where your old self may still have influence. Surrender these areas to God in prayer and ask Him for strength through His Spirit. Walk boldly in your Re-Born Identity as someone alive in Christ.
