⚠️ A Christmas Restoration of the Heart

Have you ever encountered someone who seems utterly miserable, no matter what you say? You greet them with a simple, “Hello, how are you today?” only to find that they take your words defensively or offensively. It leaves you wondering, “Who hurt this person as a child?” or “What is troubling him or her?”

Sometimes, this experience is even more challenging within our own families. We may find ourselves married to someone who makes us feel like we have to walk on eggshells to avoid confrontation. Regardless of the reasons behind their behavior, it’s important to remember that they are not alone in their struggles. We all have our days when we can be that person—irritable and defensive.

Unfortunately, when individuals remain in a chronic state of misery, it often stems from unresolved issues in their past. This heart condition may originate from childhood trauma, betrayal, illness, or a broken spirit.

As a behavior specialist, I witness firsthand the impact of abuse and trauma on children. I have met children who don’t smile or laugh, existing in a constant state of frustration and hurt. When I speak with their parents about these children’s struggles, I often find that the parents are grappling with similar issues. However, as I work with these families and help them address their unresolved pain, I begin to see glimpses of happiness emerge—moments that are far more precious than gold.

If you are someone who has been trying to heal from past hurts, sad memories, or unresolved issues, I encourage you to take care of your heart this Christmas season. Remember that you only have one heart; if its matters remain unresolved, they can lead to a dry spirit. The Bible reminds us: “A happy heart is good medicine, and a joyful mind causes healing; but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)

Would you like to avoid those dried bones? Consider seeking support from a Christian counselor or speaking with a trusted pastor or mental health professional. Begin your journey of healing today—your heart and spirit deserve it.

You are worthy of healing, and true restoration comes from the Lord. Ask Him today to guide you on the right path towards peace and joy.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas filled with hope and healing!
