Focus: Surviving When Christians Hurt You Day 27 | September 27 Healing from Gossip and Slander

Healing from Gossip and Slander

Words can deeply wound, often more from religious friends than strangers. The Bible warns about gossip, “A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends” (Proverbs 16:28). Seek God’s comfort and pray for healing; your value is defined by God, not by rumor.

Bible Verses:

  • “A gossip separates close friends.” (Proverbs 16:28)

  • “Set a guard over my mouth, Lord…” (Psalm 141:3)

  • “Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths…” (Ephesians 4:29)

Call to Action:
Refrain from returning gossip; seek out true friends who speak life. Ask God to vindicate your name and heal any wounds.

3 Things to Remember:

  • Gossip is spiritual poison.

  • God is your vindicator.

  • Kind speech brings healing.
