Focus: Boxing With My Shadows Day 5 | August 9

Shadows of disappointment and broken trust can weigh us down. Rather than carrying these wounds, the Bible calls us to cast our cares on Him (“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you,” 1 Peter 5:7). When forgiveness feels impossible, remember Jesus endured betrayal too and chose mercy over revenge (“Father, forgive them,” Luke 23:34). The choice not to forgive leaves us chained to the past, but surrender brings new freedom.

Bible Verses:

  • “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

  • “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)

  • “Bear with each other and forgive one another.” (Colossians 3:13)

Call to Action:
Consider one disappointment you haven’t surrendered to God. Tell Him exactly how you feel, then ask for His help to truly forgive.

3 Things to Remember:

  • God cares deeply about every hurt.
  • Forgiveness lightens your load.
  • Mercy brings freedom from the past.
