Focus: Boxing With My Shadows Day 2 | August 6

Every day we face choices—will we hide from the wounds in our hearts, or will we box with the shadows that linger from past betrayals? The Bible warns that unresolved pain blocks joy and spiritual growth (“Destruction and misery are in their ways,” Romans 3:16). When we refuse to forgive, the heaviness remains, but 1 John 3 reveals that loving genuinely is the only way to break free. Without confronting these shadows, bitterness takes root and relationships suffer. Today, take a brave look at your own shadows and choose to honestly surrender them to God, inviting His light to heal and restore.

Bible Verses:

  • “Destruction and misery are in their ways.” (Romans 3:16)

  • “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)

  • “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32)

Call to Action:
Write down one old wound or disappointment you secretly struggle with. Pray for the willingness to offer forgiveness and ask God to shine His light on your pain.

3 Things to Remember:

  • Hiding pain deepens its hold.

  • Love and forgiveness are pathways to joy.

  • God meets you in the shadows, ready to heal.
