Focus: Boxing With My Shadows Day 14 | August 18
Grief and loss are shadows that touch every heart eventually. David wept, yet trusted: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18) Jesus mourned with those in sorrow, showing compassion at Lazarus’ tomb (John 11:35–36). Paul writes that our suffering produces perseverance, shaping our hope (Romans 5:3–4). God meets you in grief, offering comfort and the promise of healing.
Bible Verses:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted…” (Psalm 34:18)
“Jesus wept.” (John 11:35)
“Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (Romans 5:3–4)
Call to Action:

3 Things to Remember:
God draws near in your pain.
Sorrow is not the end—hope follows.
