Focus: Emotional Triage Series Day 5: Replacing Lies with Truth

Many of our emotional struggles stem from believing lies about ourselves, others, or God. These lies can take root in childhood, through trauma, or from the world’s messages. Emotional triage means identifying these falsehoods and intentionally replacing them with God’s truth. The enemy wants us to remain bound by shame, fear, and insecurity, but Jesus came to set us free. God’s Word is the ultimate standard of truth, offering clarity and hope in every situation. When we meditate on scripture, we renew our minds and dismantle the strongholds that keep us stuck. This process is ongoing, requiring vigilance and grace as we confront deep-seated beliefs. The Holy Spirit helps us discern truth from deception, guiding us into freedom. As we replace lies with truth, our emotions begin to align with God’s perspective, and we experience greater peace, confidence, and joy. Emotional triage is not just about managing symptoms but about uprooting the lies that fuel negative emotions and replacing them with the promises of God.

Bible Verses:

· “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

· “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17)

· “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right…think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8)

Call to Action:
List three lies you’ve believed about yourself or your situation. For each lie, find a Bible verse that speaks God’s truth over it. Write these truths somewhere visible and declare them daily. Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and help you walk in freedom.

3 Things to Remember:

· Lies lose power when exposed.

· God’s Word is your standard of truth.

· Truth brings freedom and peace.
