Back Story
For years, I believed the lies that my abuse defined me—that I was dirty, unworthy, and without purpose. These feelings were reinforced by societal expectations and hurtful comments about purity and worth. I allowed others to define who I was, and as a result, I lost sight of who God created me to be.
Eventually, I left the church, feeling too broken to belong. But in 2004, I made the decision to come back to Christ and remain with Him. It wasn’t an easy journey. I had been away for so long that I didn’t know where to start. But God had a plan for me—a plan to heal my heart, renew my mind, and give me a new identity in Him.
When we allow God to work in our lives, His plans may feel like they are turning everything upside down. But that’s the beauty of it—His plans are always perfect. Through surrendering to Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us, we can experience true transformation.
Bible Verse
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17
This verse reminds us that our past does not define us—our identity is made new in Christ.
Call to Action
1. Surrender Your Past: Bring your hurts and mistakes to God in prayer and ask Him to help you release them.
2. Seek Healing Through the Holy Spirit: Allow the Spirit to work in your heart, renewing your mind and restoring your sense of worth.
3. Embrace Your New Identity: Read Scripture daily to understand who you are in Christ and live out that truth.
