Story  

The world today reflects chaos—abuses, wars, unrest—but none of this surprises our Creator. He gave humanity free will—the ability to choose good or evil—and unfortunately, many misuse this gift.

As survivors of trauma, we often question why God allows suffering when He could stop it. I used to direct my anger at God for what happened to me as a child until I realized something profound: it wasn’t God who caused my pain—it was man’s misuse of free will.

God never left me during those dark times; He shared my sorrow and offered me hope for healing through His Son, Jesus Christ. It took years for me to understand that I also had a choice—to remain broken or allow Him to heal me.

Healing doesn’t erase what happened, but it transforms how we live moving forward. Through Christ’s love, we can choose life over despair, hope over bitterness, and freedom over bondage.

Bible Verse  

"This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life so that you and your children may live." - Deuteronomy 30:19  

This verse highlights our ability to choose life through faith in God despite life’s challenges.

Call to Action  

1. Reflect On Your Choices: Are there areas where bitterness or resentment are keeping you stuck? Choose life by surrendering these burdens to God. Daily, triage your emotions using biblical principles. 

2. Trust the Creator: Believe that God is the Master Planner who can bring beauty from ashes.

3. Begin Again: Every day is an opportunity to choose healing and transformation through Christ.
