We Are The Reason Jesus Was Born

As we celebrate this Christmas season, we are reminded of the incredible gift that was given to us through Jesus Christ.

In our lives, we often encounter offers—offers for credit cards, opportunities to attend prestigious schools, purchase dream cars, or land the perfect job. These offers often measure us by our qualifications, by what we do or fail to do. But when it comes to the matters of the heart and eternity, what qualifies us to be sealed in Christ and spend forever with Him? Who determines our worthiness?

The answer is simple yet profound: our Creator. God Himself has given us the standard to enter eternal life with Him. The Bible tells us, *“If ye love me, keep my commandments”* (John 14:15). But what does it mean to keep His commandments when we are sinners who fall short? *“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”* (Romans 3:23).

The Battle for Our Hearts

Amid the beauty of God’s grace, there is an adversary—Satan—who seeks to deceive and accuse us. He whispers lies into our hearts, convincing us that we are beyond redemption. He twists God’s Word to discourage us, just as he did in the Garden of Eden when he tempted Eve by distorting God’s command (Genesis 3:1-6). From the beginning, Satan has been the accuser of humanity, using guilt and shame as his weapons.

Even Jesus faced Satan’s temptations during His 40-day fast in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). But Jesus responded with Scripture, standing firm against the enemy’s lies.

This reminds us that knowing God’s Word is crucial in resisting Satan’s attempts to use it against us.

Remember the reason for this season....Merry Christmas!
