Receiving the Light: Let Your Candle Shine

Where can I receive the Light? The good news is that there is One who can light our candle forever—Jesus Christ. In Romans 13:11-14, we are encouraged to awaken from spiritual slumber and embrace His light:
"And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light."
This passage reminds us that we must actively choose to walk in God’s light. It’s not enough to simply recognize it—we must "put on Christ" daily and cast off anything that keeps us in darkness.

As Jesus said in Matthew 5:15,
"Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house."
What will you do with the light you’ve been given? It doesn’t matter what mistakes you’ve made or how far you’ve strayed—what matters is what you choose to do now. Will you let your candle shine brightly for all to see?

This new year offers a fresh start. Let 2025 be a year where you walk boldly in God’s light, allowing His truth to guide you and His love to shine through you.

Don’t hide your flame—place it on a candlestick so it can illuminate not only your life but also those around you.
